I currently have a AMD K6 500/2 with a AGP 3D Graphics Controller (ATI Rage Pro Turbo). But yet this does not satify my Gaming needs. I would like to install a new 3D accelerator, (eg. Creative Labs Annihilator Pro)but will it conflict with the one that came w/ the computer, or will they work along side each other. Or could i by a cheaper 3D Accelerator since i already have a mid-range one in stalled. I have little knowledge in this feild, so any comments would be appriciated.

It sounds like you may have an onboard graphics setup. Please give us more info about your system. If it is onboard video (which blows for gaming) you need to disable it in the device manager before installing the new video card. It will improve your performance drastically.

Oh- as for a mid range video card (most are now 2D/3D combos and not just 3D accelerators) you could look at the Voodoo 3 line and the TNT2 cards. These are the best mid to high end cards around. They run anywhere from 100 to 200 US and are a far cry from the 300 you might pay for the CL Ann. Pro.

Thanks for the Info, and it is an on board video accelerator.

If you have an on-board video accelerator, go ahead and buy the Voodoo3 or a TNT2 card. Both varieties are very good for gaming.
When it comes time to perform the install, in your bios setup you will want to disable the on-board video. Then install the new acclerator card, and drivers, to replace the on-board one you had been using, and you will be well on your way to a MUCH better gaming experience.

Yeah sorry about the spam. I realized i was in Tech Support after i posted it, went ahead and posted it in the other forum for video devices. Thinks for the advice though.

errrr, Thanks*
you might want to make sure that the onboard video can be disabled first -- borrow an old video card and test install it.
i'd suggest the Voodoo3 line too, if it works out. there seem to be fewer problems with amd setups.

You probably already got a card by now, but if you havn't I would highly recommend GeForce 256 chipset, not only you get 32bit color and a 24bit Z-Buffer your frame rates are quite sweet too. I would personally stay away from Voodoo3.
