i just bought 2 new geforce6200 video cards for my Everex amd 2800. They are for the PCi slots. I needed a low profile low bracket so it was the one to get. I installed it but the computer is not detecting it. I am having to plug in my monitor to the older vga plug. The computer has integrated s3 UinCrome video card that work but will not work well with my sims that is why I cought a new card-but my problem is that it won't detect it. What did I do wrong? What do I need to do?

Have you disabled the onboard video? There should be a setting in BIOS to disable onboard video.

Welcome to Sysopt! :t

set the pci as primary video in the bios

thanks, and how do I do that. This was my first time installing anything but memory into my computer.....I do not want to mess it up.

not much to tell. just go into the bios and look for the video adapter or vga or some similar setting and change that from onboard/agp to pci.

sorry but I have to chime in on this one. I just returned this card to best buy not because it didn't work but because my power supply couldn't handle it. when you installed the card and restarted the system have your monitor plugged into the onboard first, then when you get to the desktop the ballon in the taskbar should popup saying new hardware found and a box should appear to install the drivers from the disk do all that then restart your system go into the bios and turn off the onboard video and make sure it's set to PCI instead of onboard , don't forget to save your settings before you leave bios , system will restart again and plug out your monitor from your onboard and plug into the video card you just installed and bang on your done. Nothing wrong with the card at all , I have a HP computer with a weak 250w power supply , should have checked the specs before I bought it but anyway good luck anymore questions you know where to go
