i have a soundblaster32 plug and play sound card and i was wondering if there was any way to disable the ide controller on the card to free up an IRQ.

Medo http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by medo (edited 01-04-2000).] Mntsnow 01-04-2000, 02:37 AM Short answer...YES Long answer...go into the device manager and open up the HARD DISK CONTROLLERS in there you will find the Soundblasters IDE controller..double click on it so you see the propertys. at the bottom of the window you will check the DISABLE in this hardware profile then click OK and that will close that window and click OK in the next window (this should put you back to the desktop) Now reboot the system and the IRQ will now be free http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Mntsnow SysOpt.com
