Do you know how to ruin a good sex life?

Get engaged and then married.

Don't let the detractors negativity about marriage get to you. Especially rockinup--she's too young to be married or even understand the kind of commitment it requires.

Marriage is awesome. If she's right for you, you'll never look back.

That's pretty strong words from a pre-pubescent half-wit suckup. Maybe when you've dated more than the roll of tissue and the sock puppet, you can come back and give us all advise on fatherhood and real estate investing.

GRATZ TONY !!

I saw a shedload of Shauny when i was up about 18months ago (spent just about every Saturday night with him in the Lodge), but not really seen him since - he give us a buzz a while back about going down the Dog Track, but i had seven shades of merry hell on at the time and couldnt make it.

I'll see if i can drag you boys out when im next back on home soil.

No, I'm totally behind him getting married, but at 20??? He's just a kid, and making a lifelong commitment at 20 (they don't even trust you to drink at that age in the US) is a HUGE step.

Unfortunately, the stats don't bode well for Tony and his fiancee. ~50% of people who marry under age 18 will divorce. ~40% percent under age 20 end up divorced. It drops to ~24% for people who marry after age 25.

Marriage is awesome. Don't get me wrong. But you have to go into it with all the facts and at 20, regardless of how old you feel, you just don't have them.

I don't want to marry til I have a job I'm commited to and an excuse (the job) for not being around all the time to raise a child. And I don't think I'd marry still til I am about 35.

I'd definately say those stats are right.

I got hitched at 32 and widowed at 47. I only wish I had met the wife at 20. I could have had 27 years instead of 15.

Granted, the years between 20 and 30 would have been rough. Being married would have interfered with my party time at that age. :D I was ready to say "later" to the guys when I got married. They were dragging me down at 32.

I was mostly hanging with younger guys because all my rowdy friends had settled down. Being 32 and hanging with a bunch of 25 year olds is like flunking the 7th grade 7 times. :D I was way older than the people I was hanging with.

My wife was 26 so I even married someone younger but man what a girl she was. Smart and able to handle me. Nobody else has ever been able to influence me like she did. I just loved to see her smile so I usually did what she wanted to do. "Usually" ;)

Yeah the stats will never bode well but meh.... I'm not even trusted to buy a lottery ticket (bought one the other day... pulled up in my car...wearing a suit...buying bread milk...all the basic foods for a home...and got asked for ID) and the cashier thinks I'm under 16 but again ....meh

I've been with her for 4 years, living together for 6 months (too see if we could live together without trying to kill each other.....we're still alive :D )

We don't plan on getting married straight away, we're moving in to a bigger place (rented for now-quite cheap as well) and we want to get setteled in there first, plus I want to finish Uni first also. :t
