Over the weekend I installed my father-in-law's Christmas presents for him. A DVD-ROM, CDRW, DVD Decoder card, and some old Reveal video editing card. My problems came with one of the drives. He has an IDE Zip drive and I had to put it on the same ribbon as the HD. I also had to set the jumper on the Zip to "Slave A" to get it to work, because when I left the jumper at factory setting (just "slave") it wouldn't see the hard drive and just said "Operating System Not Found". Now when I go into "My Computer" the Zip drive shows up as a 3.5" floppy, but when you right click on it it has all of the Iomega options like disk copier and protection etc... But, when you put in a Zip disk that has data on it, or any other disk, blank or otherwise, it says that the disk isn't formatted and would I like to format it? I went ahead and clicked yes just to see what would happen and it formatted the disk as a 100mb 3.5" floppy. After that it read the disk I let it format fine, but still no others. I looked in the Device Manager and the thing is using the [Standard Floppy Controller] drivers, and when I try to reinstall the Iomega stuff, it still does it. Even after I remove both the 3.5" floppy and the Zip drive from the Device manager. Any ideas what could be wrong?
