Probably stupid question that I would answer yes but, I want a second opinion for dropping money on another cas2 128 pc100. I have a celeron 300a @450 128 pc100 and find the tray items stack up and take away resources preventing me from running progs. More RAM will help. To have what I want running I have about 10%. Thank you

Honestly, I would really back down on the items in the system tray. I doubt you could use all of them on a regular basis. Windows doesn't really get much of a boost from ram amounts over 128. I had 128 and though I'd be a really cool guy and buy another 128 and din't see that much of a difference. I try and keep my system tray as empty as possible. i have 9 items there but could drop it down even more. I have 2 security programs and a virus scanner, a ram defragmenter, disk detection for my CD-RW, mouse software, a backup program and RC5 and the sound icon.
Good luck-
dave

Things really start to add up. Got rid of all of them and started over. Then I was back down to around 45%. Some progs like Poser takes so much. I run virus, cdrw, game controller, firewall, wince, talkworks, etc would like to have all but you answered my queation.

I am very surprised to see someone run "VIRUS" at a regular basis... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

The only things I always run are explorer, systray, and seti@home. NOTHING else.
