I'm about to buy a Gainward BLISS GeForce 7900 GS SILENT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI and I need to figure out the best way to connect it to my 40" Sony HD Bravia?

The Bravia has HDMI and regular 15pin D-Sub VGA.

The graphics card has two Dual DVI + Video Out (Component, S-Video & Composite Out)

So I guess my question is should I go from DVI to VGA via the converter or get a DVI to HDMI cable (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-002-LI)

Or should I get both??? If so why?

Thanks guys!

well the card should come with all of the adapters you need... but VGA should be fine... Composite HD may be slightly better though... try them both.

Yeah in all reality, you can pick up a nice belkin dvi to hdmi cable for about 25 bux depending on what length your looking for. Ebay it...

Also depending on what kind of set you have, One might work better than the other. As for me I have a sony kds-50a2000 and the evga 7950gt... some people swear by dvi to hdmi... others say dvi to vga... its basically going to depend on the process of elimination by none other than yourself. Pick up a dvi to hdmi adapter by monster or belkin for about 18 bux... and get a set of composite cables and pretty much trial and error from there.

if it was a crt based set I would say go vga, but since it's a fixed pixel set I personally would go with the digital conection, save the analog to digital conversion. It's just like hooking up a STB for your TV hooking up a fixed pixel based tv (dlp/lcd) component wouldn't be the ideal connection if you can hook it up by dvi and/or hdmi just saves a conversion. Hooking DVI/hdmi to a crt can give you various outcomes, I find compnent is ideal for my stb channel changes a few seconds shorter. anyhoo just my 2 pennies
