This SATA Drive and SATA Cable

Will this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822152052) SATA hard drive and this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16812105911) SATA cable and this (http://3btech.net/amdat64so754.html) motherboard all work together?

I think I'm getting confused where some people have mentioned "SATA 2"

I just want to make sure that those 3 items above (the drive, cable and motherboard) will all work together before I buy them.

It look like you may have to buy a SATA hard drive controller before you can use the hard drive with that mobo. I do not see anu mention of onboard SATA, only the standard IDE which is NOT the same.

Look for a different mobo that has onboard SATA. Most mobo kits usually come with hard drive cables, so there is no reason to buy extras.

SATA2 drives will work fine on a SATA1 system, but they will just run at the slower speed of SATA1.

The motherboard does have onboard SATA, I just wansnt sure if it was SATA1 or SATA2, but now that I know they will work with each other, if it turns out the board is SATA1 and the drive is SATA2 or vise versa, then at least I'll know it'll still work :)

So if that motherboard has the "Serial ATA150" port, then is that SATA cable I bought compatiable? I dont know if it's a SATA1 or SATA2 cable (it doesnt say)... I dont even know if there is a such thing as a "SATA1" or a "SATA2 cable"! haha

Sorry... I've never used SATA before - this will be my first time!

It's the same cable. some of the newer cables have better clips, but they are basically the same thing.
