I just bought a bare HP Internet Keyboard on ebay a few days ago. It's a quiet little keyboard and replaces that old klunky one I had before. There are 3 buttons on the top of the keyboard labeled:
Internet
Suspend (bigger button with a moon on it)
Information

I've checked the HP website for drivers to help me enable these hot keys, but no luck. No one has EVER heard of a HP keyboard.. well, me either up until now. Can someone help?

Here are the important #'s on the bottom of the keyboard.

Part No: 123213-001 Rev. A
Model No: RT2858TW
S/N: 5198107

Go bananna!

Well in retail package there should have been a cd with a program that utilized hp keyboard shortcuts. If you could find its name....

I bought this keyboard "bare" on Ebay. Just the keyboard, that's all.

You may wanna find out what model system the keyboard goes with and then locate the drivers/software for that system on HP's website. The keyboard may be mentioned there...

Already tried that. I've been checking the HP website for a while, and I have found drivers for some of their keyboard, but as you said, they are system specific. So I e-mailed the guy I bought the keyboard from, but he was of no help. He bought the keyboard from a computer shop the same way he sold it to me - just the keyboard.

I would love to e-mail HP with the product #'s and info I have from the back of the keyboard, but nowhere on their site do they have an e-mail address for tech. support questions. Oy!

Whatcha talkin' bout' Willis?

the keyboards ship with every HP system and the software is preloaded for the board...maybe you could get a recovery disk for the hp's and find it there?? I would'nt think it to be system specific.....mmmmm I have a friend that has a hp...let me check his disk and I will let you know..
BTW...you can find them at flea markets for 3 to 5 bucks... HP keyboards I mean..

I have a regular keyboard. I have a friend who has one of those "internet" keyboards. He spent over an hour programming the thing.

I showed him how to use keyboard shortcuts in 30 seconds.

I use keyboard shortcuts to launch programs, launch onto the net, but they don't work so well with favorites......

I've got drivers for the keyboard to the HP 8xxx series, but it's not the one you describe. This has speaker & cd controls as well. Also has two cables, one to proprietary interface.
Anyway, I found the driver posted at HP's site under the model # of the computer. Find out what model your keyboard fits & you'll find the driver.

Making it work on a non-HP might be fun though...
