I've been playing World of Warcraft for over a year now and am just curious if there is anything else out there that is as good that I might switch to? I already have Guild Wars and am not really happy with it.
Anyone else playing any other MMORPG that is worth it?

Here's an idea if you've nothing better to do...
www.runescape.com (http://www.runescape.com)
It is low graphic, and a java app, but it doesn't require installation of a game. No rival of WoW, though...

I haven't tried EQ2 yet. I downloaded the trial last night so i will give it a try tonight. I tried Runescape a while ago and didn't like it. I'm a big fan for flashy graphics.

Some of the geeks I know are starting to play Vanguard. It's a Sony game, so it's boung to be buggy, but they like it.
Pirates of the Burning Seas is another one I've heard them mention. MMORPG's aren't my thing, so I don't have much other info.

Knight Online has ok graphics, but I think SilkroadOnline is the best looking (and most fun) free MMORPG ever!

If you get really desprate you could always play games at other graphics levels. For example my friend was playing WoW on all low and there we no roads to anything! So you could make it seem like a whole new game. heh

Well, here in Norway we got a gaming company called FunCom (they made
Anarcy Online and Dreamfall among others) and they are soon releasing their new massive MMORG called "Age of Conan".
It looks awesome! I havent dared try EQ or WOW cause I was hoocked
on good old LP-Muds in the old days (Final Realms for those of you that
know it) , but this one seems to be so nice that I almost have to try it...

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is pretty darn good...as long as you go into it knowing its not designed to be a kiddie MMO, so will be a bit different then WoW.

Have they ironed out the bugs that apparently plagued the game originally?

Honestly I didn't feel like there were any bugs that made the game unplayable. Maybe I am more accepting because I have played long enough to know what the older games were like when they were released. Most the people complaining are the types who decide that they no longer want to continue playing, and want to let the entire world know by moaning on a forum.
But yea, the majority of the bugs have been ironed out, and is much more stable then it was at launch.

I just got an invitation last night to try out Lord of the Rings open beta. I started to download the client last night, bu t it looks like I won't be able to play until April 6 when the beta goes online.
I have high hopes for this game. They could do so much with it, but it looks like it will fall short of my ever increasing expectations. From what I have read, you will only be able to play on good side, not on the side of Mordor. They could have done so much much with battles and just interaction between the two factions. Also it looks like quite a bit of it will be instanced, which IMO takes away the massively multiplayer feel.
I'll give it a try anyway because I love the Tolkien world. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

That kinda of a hard question to answer. Just google.
I am personally waiting on STO, and hopefully get to do beta. I will stop paying for War Crack if the game promises half of what is planed.

I always wondered what would happen if the World of Warcraft emptied out. I'd probably be even more depressed about all the time I've spent on that game lol.
