Sonnd Blaster PCI512 Problems

I just bought a Sound Blaster PCI512 and installed it on my fic VA503+1.2a mobo
running Win98 SE, and when I go to shut my system down it'll hang at the
splash screen. I have the mini port patch installed and also tried the
Windows98 SE shutdown patch and it didn't help. I even formatted my drive
and tried different slots, no good. When I put my old card back in
everything is fine, any ideas?
