Even though I've got a 56K modem, my normal connection speed is either 28,800 or 26,400 bps. Every once in awhile, it will connect at 24,000- but I've NEVER connected at more than 28,800. Now for the last 2 days, I get the message that I'm connected at 115,200 bps! How is that possible? That's over twice of what my modem is capable of. Please, someone explain this to me?? --fc

That's probably the port speed, instead of the actual connection speed. Make sure you're using the proper drivers for your modem. You might need to remove and reinstall it. Good luck.
