Hey. Computer Blocking IP?

Hey , My computer was overloaded with spyware and adware.
I then reformatted it.
This was about 2 days ago - I then installed my BT Voyager 1055 Wireless Adapter, It gets a signal etc, But the IP address won't assign to it. At first it displays0.0.0.0 then it becomes a 169. IP, so my computer is automatically assigning it an IP, Could anyone hep me?

what kind of router do you have? did you remember to add in the security like WEP or WPA?

If you installed WinXP SP2, the default is with the security On, and it might be that the Firewall is Blocking the Network Traffic.
