MX revolution? That's a work mouse, not a gaming mouse. The scroller is smooth, not notched (which is what you need for FPS weapon scrolling.
And you skimped on the video card.... tisk tisk
Other than that, looks pretty dang solid. The reason I got the 8800 GTX was because I wanted the absolute cleanest performance in DX9 games. If it performs really well in DX10, that's a huge plus, but if it doesn't, I'll sell it and get one that does.
Doubt all that is going to cost you only $2700. Maybe $3500. that X6800 is right about $1000 by itself.
Don't really like the case either. Can't find the reviews on it, but it looks cheap and fragile. I wouldn't house "$2700" worth of stuff in that.
Heck, if you can get it for that price, power to ya, but I think you're wasting your money.
Oh yeah, and welcome to Sysopt! :t

For a mouse, I bought some weird brand mouse, mi is it's comapany. It is optical. It has the notched scroll, and works really well. The only problem was that it is white n' blue. Not relli a problem for me, my setup is white. It was I thin $10-$15 at a Wal-Mart.

the mouse has 2 modes for scrolling; un notched and notched (if you want a sub machine gun as a side weapon in css, buy the dualies and switch to un notched scrolling and set the fire button to mouse scroll down..... bang bang
the case is pretty sturdy, you put it together your self so its as solid as you want. also it's 1/2" thick acrylic so yeah.
one last thing.. i forgot to include that my girlfriend is buying me the mouse and the monitor!!! yay. so that is why im getting it for 2700 from a certain place online.
oh yeah, thanks for the welcome, sounds like you guys got a good forum here!

I guess you asked for it. I'm no authority, but Rosewell is not the top power supply maker out there. If your going to speend all of that .. check out some better high end names.. probably a sticky here somewhere for those... Even the generic Ultras, which are getting alot better, have a new one out that would fit nicely for your system... I'd give ya some links.., but i'm just passing the time and noticed this..
Thats alot more than i could ever afford. Just for whats its worth, I always find it funny that if one does not even know the basics, why you all have to get such a high end rig anyways... Planning on doing something useful with it, or just bragging rights...? No offense intended... LOL ;)

Rosewill is his fan maker. The PSU is from Thermaltake and they are reputable.

Not really.. I had one and thought it was good also. I still have it and nothing ws wrong with mine.., its just that they ARE NOT one of the top five and thats all thats needed to be said. Many many posts here attest to that.
Mine is now selling for like $30.00 or less ..and its a 420 watt. They are not bad, but he could do alot better with that much money invested, and that amount of high end stuff...
I still have thier PC CASE for my system though. That is one area where they shine. Excellent made cases... I would get another one in a heartbeat. LOL

If the 750 watt is anything like this one it'll rise in other reviewer's eyes.
To the original poster: You'll have a decent power supply for your rig - not to worry.

my Thermaltake 480-watt PSU on my older system was great. However, it was being used on a system that didn't nearly use the full 480-watts available.
However, I picked up an OCZ PSU for my new build. It is extremely solid. However, Thermaltake is good enough that that PSU shouldn't flop under pressure. It isn't top of the line though.

wow it's almost like a Copy of mine :p well not really there are enough differences, but yeah it's a nice solid machine
I'm also not very exited about that MX revolution mouse, the new generation of MX is not as good as the Old original MX1000
I'd rather get a G7 (if you like a heavier feel) or V400 Double Laser (for Notebook) but man i gotta tell you it's more precise and accurate and feather lite feel
both are good, but still none compares to the MX1000
so it seems like you are going to use the Onboard sound?.... oh well it's your choice.

I've been running a ToughPower 750 on my jammed rig for several months now with nary a peep. Got the 6600 with a X1900XTX Crossfire setup, 5 hdd's, 2 DVD burners, Audigy 2 ZS PCI, Theater Pro 650 Tuner/Capture card, 5 120 cm case fans, 3 water pumps, 3 120 cm radiator fans, floppy, 2 Zalman chip coolers and a couple of bling-bling lights. Granted it does pull a heck of a load on my ups... :D

so im upgrading the gpu to a xfx 8800 gtx!! and got my proc for $770 off of ebay new sealed wit hwarranty! thats 200 less than newegg. i got my case all put together. what wattage of power supply would i need for 5 120mm led fans, 1 80mm led fan, the 8800 gtx, a core 2 extreme x6800, 4 cold cathodes, the zalman cpu fan, and the rest of my specs? would my 750w thermaltake be ok?

Thats out of my range.. but one thing you could do as a good ref. point is look for the link here in this forum under 'General Tech. or some other sticky ( maybe a post ) that shows the link to let yu input what you have and it computes just how much wattage you'll need.
I'll look that up for you and post it here in a few minutes....
Even with all you've got there i would certainly thiink that 750 watts is plenty.
Also, unless your running servers or have a system for online play, whenever all of these guys talk about needing so much power, ther just bragging or being stupid.
Larger PSU's most often are alot larger in size versus yor case ,in whether it fits
Again, if you want like one of the new 1000 watt ones, then I think 'Midknyte' (moderator here ) posted that one here awhile back.. with the link. Kind of spendy though.

Your welcome....but Thats insane dude.
I want to say congrats... but.... Way... too mcuh and too costly. My opinion. ( now someone here will write back and say its your life I bet .like i should give credos.??
I'm just a bit more practical than that. For me a first rate system ..very high end, would cost no more than $2500.00 tops. I guess your planning to use all of that??
Have fun eating catfood..@#$%^^&*???????????????

Pretty good, I personally am not a big fan of thermaltake powersupplies. On a high end system I would opt for a Enermax or Seasonic.
FWIW, there are people in the world that can afford a system like this and still have a bloody steak and a glass of red wine for dinner.

Yep, and there are people that like to enjoy their money as well, there is nothing wrong with that. Point being, just because you wouldn't or couldn't spend that much on a PC, doesn't put you in a position to judge anyone else. I wouldn't spend that much either on a PC, but I'm not about to get up on my soap box and chastise someone for doing so. If he has the means, more power to him.

yes, then there are people like myself who are still in high school, work a regular job, then tutor calculus for minimum wage for 2 semesters and save everylast dime they get to pay for their hobby. believe me, i am no where near rich. i plan my money and save the left overs.

Now that you've gone to an 8800GTX, you're going to have an incredible system. I wish I could afford to drop $4800 for a computer. Trying to scrounge up $2300 to get a new system was hard enough (and I even got the exact system I wanted for that price too.) Honestly, if you're going to get a nice system, pay for a premium for video card, motherboard, and Powersupply. Get a performance processor and case (with lots of cooling). Everything else from there is optional and will only enhance the experience, but those 5 components are crucial to a great system.
Well, you seem to have done your homework and lord knows you've spent enough money on that system. I hope it meets (and surpases) your expectations.

Negative. Go with the revolution. Logitech's drivers are 99.99999999999% flawless. I've heard about problems with the copperhead's driver support.

IMHO I like them both, but I like razers feel alot more than logitechs. If you could, play a game with both and pick the one YOU like better. Preference is 100% personal. And I kinda agree with rabbit about droppin 4800 on that rig. You could have been satisfied with 2000 dollars less equipment. But hey it is your money. At least you know youll be able to play every game available on the market for the next 6-12 months.
