I've just moved to the UK and signed up with NTL for cable and broadband services. I've also just installed a wireless router. Everything appears ok - I can connect to the router and browse the internet, but I'm having problems downloading files. I first noticed this the other day when I was trying to watch a couple of movies on utube. The movies would start playing but would then just stop at around 20-30% - heppened with every movie I tried. Today I am trying to dowload a file and again it keeps stopping when it gets to around 20-30%. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this type of thing before - does it sound like a router problem or service provider? Any config settings that I could look at? Thanks

Have you called your ISP yet? You may have not set it up properly.

I've had the same problem since I joined pipex like 3 years ago. If I ever use the browser downloader for a big file, it pretty much always stops at some point, just freezes.

The only way round it I found was to use a DL manager. I use flashget. No problems at all with it that way.

Good luck mate

I called my ISP and they say that there's no problem - connection checks out fine. I connected to my routers config via the browser, but I didn't change any settings and logged out again.... and the problem went away. I'm not sure quite what happened and maybe just a coincidence, but thanks for the replies.

Have you flash update the firmware on the router yet?

What make/model is the router?
