ok i reformatted installed win 95 said something about a partition i hit ok so it made a 2 gig partition in dos well i didnt like having 2 2 gig drives so i went into dos and deleted extended dos par and and then the what ever rebooted and still just 2 gig Hd so i reformat again put on win 95 without partition this time but still not back to 4 gig hd whats up ?

Sounds like you need to do the fdisk thing. First, delete all partition info then set the whole drive as the active partition. Restart, format, install OS.

You must also enable large drive support (not available with Win95 version A) when asked at the beginning of fdisk - otherwise your drive will default to FAT16 which has a 2.1GB limitation on partition size. If you enable large drive support your drive will be FAT32 where partition size is not a problem.

If you have already installed Windows and you do not want to fdisk and reformat, Partition Magic 5.0 can help you out. You can convert the 2GB partiton to FAT32 and you can then resize the active partition to use all the remaining free space on the drive.
