Well, after much anxiety over the order process and finally getting my new video card today, i just installed it with no glitches whatsoever.
I know what most of you are thinking. No big deal right? For me ,however it is huge.
I've been using my great old vard since 2001. After 90 something percent of gaming and computer enthusiasts have upgraded long ago,or more recent than I, I feel just a bit more in the groove now.

What shocked me somewhat is when i saw how small the card is compared to my previous FX5900. That card is a whole two inches longer and much heavier. Size in today world is not a measurement of anything.. , I know.

Have not played or tested it as of yet in gaming..etc.., but rest assured i will tonight... AFTER THE BIG GAME lol ;) ;) ;)

I hear ya man. I can not even tell you for sure how many cards I have had since 01.

I think in 01 I had a 7500, then I got an fx5200. I hated it and bought a 9800 pro. Then I got an x800xt and killed it. Then I got a 6800GT which is still running in my back up machine. Finally as of now I am running an x1800xt crossfired.

No, I do not want to add that up in real dollars. It would make me sick as hell if I did.

Yeah.. I think that old card i had is still one of the best video cards out at that time, as was the 9800 Pro. Almost five years of total gaming abuse and it still plays like new.. Just an amazing product.

Wish me luck. I am about to test this thing in some game , just to see what the talk is all about. I know its only a mid range card, but i read all the reviews, and just hoping for SOME performance gain. Idle temps are lower also. (45 degrees )
I'm still searching for the bus speed chart. Just wondering waht it is set on. Stock is like 375 and 780 or some such. The ladder is supposed to go up to close to 1400.
can't seem to find the clock frequency settings in the control panel. Know where I can find that??

Well thats an improvemnt... Just played some F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and I LIKE IT.

Definitely better FPS, thats for sure. Now i can shoot the baddies at close to full speed..and I got it on app. controled in the control panelas is stock setting . Colors do look better as does the graphics.. be fun to check it in different games ( which i will do LOL )
