Problem installing microphone

when i am using aim 3.5 it allows you to connect and talk to people i had problems installing my mic how do u install it? i can hear it through my speakers fine?

I don't think you have to uninstall your mic.
You have your mic set up for 'Kareoke'.
Go to the MIXER portion of your sound card and go into PLAY options. Here you should find your mic is activated, select it so it is MUTED. Next, go to the RECORD options and select your mic, this will make it HOT and you will be able to talk to other people.
