I posted earlier about s-video, and I got some helpful responses, but here's the problem...
I'm trying to connect my creative DVD to my TV via s-video
I get video (****ty video at that), but I don't get any sort of audio other that whatever tv station is on in the background...
I have the cable connected to the svideo on my dxr3 card and on the tv.

i would really appreciate any sort of suggestions on this.
thx

I use S-Video cables in Home Theatre applications and it does not carry audio. All it carries are the chroma (C) and luma (Y) signals.

NO hence the lable s-video This is what you have to do http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gifat least what I do w/ my dxr2)

Hook up the funky s-video/video jack that comes with the dxrX into either the s-video or video jack into you TV. (I say either cause that is how my dxr2 is. It has a midi style port on the back of the card that seperates the video into either s-vid or composite vid.)
Now to get sound:
If you are using a DD5.1 system that you are hooked up into then you may use the digital out on the back of the dxrX. If not then use the line/speaker out on the sound card. You can buy at places like best buy/Radio Shack that has a stereo headphone type jack to stereo RCA jacks that you can then plug those into your TV/VCR/Receiver.

Does your TV have a video in selection menu of some sort - you definitely should not get any bleed from a TV program in the back-ground. That and the poor video quality you mention sound like a TV issue.
