Hey dudes!
I have a fujitsu hd that says its S.M.A.R.T compatible. SHould I enable this in the bios? Is there any advantage to it or is it buggy.
Thanks!
It works fine, I enable it on all I can. It actually saved a rebuild of a PC once by alerting me of a drive problem while I had time to save the data!

You can get a false warning too sometimes. Especially if Power Management is enabled in CMOS. But it's better to be safe than sorry. I agree with BBA, enable it. If you start having wierd problems, then turn it off and see if that caused it.

I had a drive fail (Maxtor 20GB) and SMART didn't tell me jack! I do usually enable it just in case though. Glad to hear it actually saved someone. The only warning I got was click, click, click, click and then FREEZE!
