Hello,

I've recently purchased the following for my ASRock 939Dual SATA2 System:

AMD Athlon X2 3800+ AM2 Socket (65W)
BFG GeForce 7900GS OC PCI-E
2x512 Patriot PC2 5300 DDR2667
Asrock AM2CPU CPU Upgrade Bridge Card

I was just wondering, when I take out my old CPU/GPU/RAM and add the new AM2 Card/CPU/RAM/GPU, will Windows fail to validate? I've heard you can replace anything but the motherboard in a WinXP system and all will be fine. But I'm not really replacing the mobo per se, but rather adding the AM2 CPU Card. So, do you think my Windows validation/activation will go fine after my new components are up and running?

Thanks.

It really doesn't matter either way. The validation takes 5 minutes over the phone to an 800 number (FREE call) and you never even talk to a human.

Yep, and that's assuming you even have to call... If it has only been activated once or has not been re-activated in a long time, it should work right over the net without having to call. As far as "when" XP makes you re-activate your OS, I've had to reactivate mine once when I wanted to make an image of a hard drive so I temporarily disconnected my DVDRW drive and hooked the hard drive up.
