What exactly is the error code? if it is a SUWIN error message, there is a very good chance that you're dealing with a bad MB, mismatched/damaged RAM, or cache problem. if it is a SUxxxx (where x= numbers) then it could be several things. post the error message and I'll see what I can tell you.

also ... please post at what point you get the message.

Also, make sure you have virus protection disabled in your BIOS.

Is it possible that my cdrom is to fast for my harddisk.
I have a 40 speed.
And a old 815mb hd.
If i setup win 311 from diskette then i have no problems, when i do it from cdrom i get alkinds of errors.
Is that possibly the reason why i cant setup win 95/98 from cdrom???

Try to copy all the files from the Win98 cd. Use a boot disk then at the C:\ PROMPT type C:\Win98\setup.exe Win98 being the directory you copied the win file to. If you just copy them to C then just type setup.exe. Oh after you copy the file to disk At the DOS PROMPT type DIR it will show all the directorys of your drive. I hope this helps you.

Did any of those situations apply to you on the link Socalgal gave you?

sometimes this can be gone around by disabling cache both external and internal for the setup of windows. If it works re-enable the cache. Ususally it will keep on working
