I am looking for a new BX motherboard, and have narrowed it down to three choices, BE6-II, Soyo 6BA+III or +IV. What future devices other than a hard drive will be supported using ATA66? Is it really worth the extra money for a motherboard with ATA66? Is everything going to be ATA66 "compliant" in the future? Thanks.

Everything, beleive it or not, someday DVD-ROM drives will transmit more than 33.3mb/s. Atapi removables(like zip or ls120) may someday be more like LS12000, and may transmit more than 66.6mb /s. The future may be serial devices, alowing hot-swap, but presently no serial device lives up to the power of ATA/66.
