Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Can't set bindings in win2k, help!
Once again, I'm screwing around with win2k...and I find that my firewall BlackICE, doesn't work with it. So at least I think I should set my bindings to close my ports. When I go to do this I find there's no way that I can. In windows help it refers to Advanced tabs...which just arn't there. Any help would be appreciated...any way to close my ports, well port really...139 to be exact, **** netbios. I really don't want to go back to 98. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

This is what BID says: "We do not plan to officially support Windows 2000 until its official release."

Is this a stand-alone PC - no networking?

Yeah, I read that with much dissapointment.

It's just a home system useing @home. And I can't find a way to close my 139 port. AHHHH!!!!! Needless to say, this is very scary after being on a secure 98 machine and seeing BI pick up all thos scanners. I find myself disableing the network whenever I don't absolutely need to be connected.
How do I close that **** port in win2k is my question.
