USB - Just upload.

Hi folks, I'm wondering if does anybody knows a program or another way that allows only make an upload from a plugged Pen Driver/Digital Camera in the USB port. I mean, when somebody plug a device into the USB port I'd like to allow only to save the data into the computer and not copy the data from the computer to the device.

Any tip, link, suggestion?

here's a link (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mypendrive.html) that installs an autorun on your pen drive to copy from there to your HDD but not the other way - freeware and look elsewhere on the site.....or use Google

many USB drives can be locked to avoid someone deleting data on the drive - or copying to it - sometimes it's software, sometimes it's a switch which isn't much help

1. either you're letting someone you don't trust use one of your machines - easily fixed by the above, or have them give the drive to you - we do seminars and I won't let anyone plug their USB drives into our laptops unless I do it

or 2. we use CDs often as an alternative, dirt cheap nowadays - if you make them use discs that are "finalized" to get their data on your computer they can't copy data back onto the CD they used

lots of alternatives - exactly how are these users needing to copy stuff, how important is it to protect them taking data with them when they can pop a CD of their own in and grab a bunch of stuff anyway if unattended, etc?
