i also read on a german site today that fileplant will probably be " involved " in the beta. i really hope so because my brother is subscriber and FP has often closed betas.

From what i have found, supposedly its going to come out in march. Hope it does, cant wait to play, the videos are nothing more than a super tease.....kinda like going to a strip club.

I wouldnt regard that as a solid release date (much as i dont trust release dates on sites such as Amazon) until i hear it directly from the developers, im still going with "Fiscal 2008" release, if it were out in March we woudl be hearing a LOT more about it right now and seeing a boatload of media releases (ala STALKER):

I agree Jak..makes sense.. thats usually my gut feeling also. Even if game sites or retailers had them for pre-sale, that would give a clue also.

A lot of them go off previous estimated release dates, best guesses, old release dates given by publishers etc etc - very little actually comes direct from the horses mouth of the developers. Accoring to one gamesite i recently looked at, Bioshock was due out on the 12th of January - according to the developers we wont be seeing it until June. The only time you can ever really certain on a projected release date is when the title has already been confirmed by the publishers as having gone golden.

If ET:QW was due out within the next month, you would be seeing a CONSTANT stream of media exposure: interviews, previews, trailers etc - as it is, we arent. This fact alone indicates to me its safe to say we wont be seeing it in the next month, in fact, i doubt we'll see it for a lot longer than that

I thought I might add that if this thread continues, someone will say the absolute day of release here 2 months before release and say that they were right, 2 years from now.

Just look at valve for the frontrunner in promises... but at least they have gotten alot more honest after the HL2 wait was done.

Yeah.., the horses mouth is always best. Kind of like typ. buracracy, and getting the constant run around. I'm sure no harm or intent is conveyd here, although i would think that top gmae sites should be alot more careful about letting things out of the bag before thier info is confirmed.
