I use Firefox as a browser and set as it default browser, This works for several days (up to a week) then suddenly it will decide that it doesn't like being the default and then I can't get any email to open in a browser until I reset Firefox as default again?
Is there some way of making it stay as default without having to reset every few days?

Browsers do not change their settings by themselves.
What other programs are you running? What other browsers?
Do you have multiple users that share this PC?
My Firefox works fine and does not do this.

There are 3 other users programmed on to the puter but these are seldom used these have Netscape as browsers, I have recently added Netscape as well but this problem goes way back long before I added Netscape.

I smell a virus/spyware that is changing the settings on you.

Sterling's right - we had someone go to a link they shouldn't have, not only kept changing browser settings but also blocked access to certain online AV scans I use on top of the desktop AV we already have installed. Got around it by restarting in safe mode to do all and got rid of the culprit using adaware, spybot, whatever
and if it keeps prompting you to determine the default browser are you getting popups, other garbage when you use IE instead - if so might be easier to find the culprit?

I'd say it's spyware first. Could be wrong though. I know there's quite few that like to change search engines and home pages. I've also heard of peoples browsers being changed by spyware. I just don't remeber the names or where I read it at. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that. Good luck!
