I'm sorry to keep asking this question over and over.. but i am totally baffled by this thing.

First...i go to both thier site and even open the link 'download flash player (typ. in web page listing ) , and when i run that... it says its installed after it runs in the background.

No workie .. nothing in my Add-remove or on my machine. I keep running the darn thing over and over and it keeps saying its installed on the web interface.

I even went to thier site and downloaded the previous 8.0 version archive and ran that.. and when i did ( runExe.) i get the first bar that starts to open and run install and then it just dissappears... and nothing again.

What in the world is going on??? Absolutely everything in my IE is working fine and dandy. I have reset my Internet control options many times and unchecked let run active X and other and undid that or cahnged other menu choices and nothing ever happens.

This sounds like some major bug. Since i reloaded and updated my AV and Asware porgrams , i am once again free of any computer glitches and it runs super now... No tojans ,virues or worms.... nor adware.

Help help help.. PLEASE!

thanks bruce.. i read that ..

Listen to this.. This is really quite interesting ,funny and sad at the same time.

I once again tried everyting in that issue memo with littel success and tried to run it again in differnt I.O. config. and the ole Need to install ActiveX control pops up and i installed that. I thought it was installed previously as i remember doing that.
Still in IE brower i get the MS warning box up top and no work on clicking the right side.. ?????? so...

I then try FireFox and guess what? It works in that just fine.

This tells me that my IE has some bug in it or something is not right there. Funny thing is nothing in that browser other than that one install does not work. All other installs and works fine and it operates fine also.

Lately over the past few days or week i have had some trojan and malware issues and finally got rid of and and my whole system clean again. I still think ther is some litttle worm or bug somewhere keeping that from displaying. Like some video related bug or trojan somewhere?? Who knows.

I guess i'm back using FireFox once more.

You might want to do a repair install of xp
Sounds like some file is messed up
Are you using IE6 or IE7 ?

If IE6 try a repair of IE6 using IEFIX

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

If it is IE7 try uninstalling it and then reinstall

IE6.....Well i downloaded the fix.. ran it. and the menu window for opoing in the file on the OS disk came up.. i looked in my system.. and could not find IE folder at a glance so i clicked cancel..and it then said it was completed...

Just went to the initial website ( ESPN ) i was trying too view the flash window and ...wahtdoyaknow.. it is working now... Don't know if this fix did it or what but who cares right?

Don't tell anybody, but i got a crack for IE7 but in truth i don't need it right now. I wouldn't mind having the new Vista when it comes out.. but cannot afford it ( who can? )

Thanks alot Bruceb for your input buddie.... LOL

What crack ? ?

It works fine if you have SP2 installed.
But, it would not install properly on a Dell
Inspiron laptop (about 6 mos old) which
came with XP (might be MCE) & SP2
already installed
