xp install freezes

built a brand new computer and began to install xp home, it was fine for most of it then at 15minutes left on Registering Components, it froze. what should i do? is it safe to shut it off and retry installing?

athlon 64 3800+
asrock 939dual-vsta
512x2 PC3200 ram
x850xt 256mb
80gb 7200 seagate sata2 hdd

i did a quick search on google and it says to wait for a bit. its been 2 hours. :confused:

I have NEVER had to wait more than few minutes.

Reboot and it should restart the install process.
