cdrwin problem

I have a hp 9110i writer and have installed the software that came with it (adaptec) and it works ok.

I also installed cdrwin, and every time I try to use this program it says that it does`nt see my writer. It see`s D drive and the writer under readers, but nothing under recorders.

Well I would have to suggest that you check out CDRWIN's website for patches for your version of software and or check their FAQ's...I quit using CDRWIN software along time ago as Adaptec's and Plextor's software does everything I need it to do http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

ok,my question is this,

(I was told) that cdrwin was a better program than adaptech, and would record games where adaptech wouldnt.

I tried copying a game last night (that I bought)and it said it copied successfully, it starts, but ask`s for the cd.

I figure it`s copy protected, but was told that cdrwin would copy a copy protected cd.

I`m new to burning cd`s, so I dont know!

I dont plan to be in the pirate business, just wanted to copy some of my stuff.

what confuses me is that cdrwin wont even recognize that I have a recorder.

I have the same problem with my Sony 2x8 burner. I'm using UDMA66, so the burner is actually in theory primary master. I have no clue what the problem is but I'm in the middle of overclocking, I just wanted you to know youre not alone dab http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

There is a good possablity that the VERSION of CDRWIN you have is OLDER than your CD burner. Thus it doesnt recoqnizew it. That is why I suggested that you check with CDRWIN's website for a "patch" As for having trouble copying some of YOUR cd's Some are VERY hard to copy and some even require a "tweak or patch/crack file" to make them work. I would suggest that you read up on which ever peticular CD title that is giving you problems on http://www.cdmediaworld.com/

hey Mntsnow, thats what I get for being computer ignorant. you were correct. I was running ver. 3.7a and updated to 3.8b and it is now working.
