I just installed a computer and want to transfer files from an old computer to the computer. Both connect to the net wireless. I could get the computers to connect via ad hoc but I don't know what to do from there to get the files across. Is a program needed or is this somehow done through ICS? I also thought about ftp but im not sure if this is possible pc to pc.

Can someone please give me some guidance

thank you

nb-both computers are running winxp, one is pro.

You need to share the file or folder .

You network the two computers and set the sharing (http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html ).

Map the old computer drive to the new computer (http://www.ezlan.net/faq#map ), and use Windows Explorer, or any other Commander type program (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/freecommander.html ) to copy the files.

This method is only for transferring files you cannot copy installed applications. They need to be installed on the new computer from scratch.
