losing 3Dmark99&Quake video

Hi..
My computer looses the the video and returns to the desktop when running Quake2 or the 3D benchmark (DEmo mode) after a short splash..I have a K62-400 32meg ram , 4meg vid card..I am not sure if this a bios setting or a lack of avail physical ram? My mobo uses the via mvp3 chipset and all the patches are in.....Thanks in advance!

I have a Diamond stealthII S220 4 megs..
Also I forgot to mention the win95b is on the C drive with Linux Mandrake (newbie) on another hard drive...
