udma 66

i'm interested in buying a udma pci accelerator- is the 66 meg transfer rate worth the trouble ?? i'm looking to gain as much speed out of my system as possible.

Did some benchmarking of my 2 systems in my small lab. One had a U ATA-66 controller card and a U ATA-66 Seagate HDD. The other had a U ATA-33 Seagate HDD and they performed pretty similarly. The U ATA-66 does provide some improvement but doens't really make a whole lot of difference. I'm not a professional reviewer or benchmarker so I can't say my tests are correct but this is the opinion I offer.

Like I already said 2.000.000 times: buy a Promise FastTrack RAID controller.

I am using it with two IBM 22Gxp 9.1Gb (7200rpm, 2Mb cache) in raid0 config...
I have bought another 2 HD and I should receive them after Xmas... can't wait !!!!
