Ok, I am looking at about $500 comming in soon, I want to build a duel CPU system, Celeron based, and overclock a bit. I already have the NIC, sound, case, disket drive, and CD-ROM drive. I want duel 400CPUs, what kind of a comfiguration would you sugjest, I set up a list of parts, but I want your openion, oh, and I am gona use it to run Linux when the new Kernal comes out, for now the second chip would be dormant. It would be both a server and a game machine, and a web browser.

Actualy I was thinking a stick of 32mb ($30) or 2 sticks for 32mb (60) for now, then when prices go back down, pop in a 128 and have a real nice setup.

Just a thought... $500 isn't much for what you are looking for. I looks like you need a HD, processor(s), RAM, MB, and video.
I don't know about compatibility with Linux buy here is what I would recommend for your budget and wants.

RL...
The slot converter was added out of habit as I usually look at slot one boards. As for getting better prices, I know that other places have better prices but you end up shopping multiple sites and often you end up taking a BIG hit in S&H. If someone can find better pricing then why not list it but be sure that the bottom line is less otherwise it's useless to KillerBug. BTW I didn't include the S&H charge because it varies based on where you live.
KillerBug...
Best of luck and hope you can get what you are looking for.
Lets say that you get the following at the prices you say including S&H.
$60 for 64mb
$120 for 2 400s
That leaves with $320 for HD, dual processor MB, and video. You do the math...
BTW the BP6 is a large MB be sure that it will fit in you case before ordering. Also you will want to consider having a 300w power supply (if you don't already have one)if you plan on expanding over what you have listed.

.... I would graciously accept it. /forum/smile.gif
that set up is ok carl, but he could do much better for that much$$$, oh yeah and unless you plan on using the slot kit as a paer weight carl, then you dont need it, the bp6 is a 370 board, duhhhh! /forum/smile.gif
