The problem is that my old win xp pro cd will not boot from cd untill i install the drivers from the floppy (6 disc boot). I know that my cd drive is a bootable drive, because i tryed using my new xp pro disc. It worked fine.
I wanted to use the new cd, since it has sp2 (save me a bunch of download time). I got to the cd key and said "This key not valid for this version of windows". I thought i could use the newer version win cd and use my (old) original key, but i quess i was wrong.
What i want to know is: Is there a way to load the install drivers from the 6 disc set, and windows cd to one cd???? I know you can slipstream the sp2 and windows to 1 cd, just not sure if you can do that with the floppy disc or how.
I been doing some reading about Bart PE, and downloaded it

Why not create an SP2 version of your old WinXP CD and then burn a copy to use during the install.
I followed this article and it works great for me. You can load the floppy disk image directly to your new CD:

From what i can read,
its assuming that the win cd is already able to boot. Its not showing how to create an image of my boot disc's or where to put them.

If you had an ISO editor like UltraISO or WinISO, you could extract the boot files from the new CD and use them to boot the old CD. It would also allow you to copy all *.sys files from the 6 floppies to the i386 folder on the new version of the old cd.
It sounds like the old one is a proprietary OEM version like a Dell. If the new one was an off-the-shelf OEM version, it would likely take the Product key from the old one. Is the new one a retail version?

Well that would be why it won't take the product key. You either have to find an off-the-shelf OEM copy to do the install, or find an ISO editor that will enable you to make the necessary changes.
That Dell CD must be damaged as all the Dell CDs that I have around here are bootable, but even to fix that you would need an ISO editor.
It might be easier just to get another CD from Dell.
