My son has downloaded Little Fighter 2 (actually six different versions), I opened one folder and it had multiple application files. I clicked on one, and my antivirus (Nod 32) popped up and gave me different options. I chose to delete the files.

Is it possible to remove a virus from a downloaded game and the game still be able to function?

It appears this game is freeware, so that gets rid of my first concern that it was a pirated game...

I'd delete whatever you downloaded, and download the game straight from the official website of the game. You have the best chance of getting a good copy of it, then.

Click "Download", you can even try the download.com mirror.

Thanx for the info. Yeah, I couldn't find it sold anywhere. Since it is freeware should i just expect it to have some adware or something else attached to run.

Is it possible that if my antivirus doesn't recognize it as known threat, my antivirus program will just assume its a virus? Although if I remember, I think it was called win32 or something like that. And again if its a known threat do you think its possible to remove the threat and still be able to play the game?

The reason I'm asking is because it seems to be quite popular for this age group. And; since I can't seem to buy it any where (must be downloaded) I was Kinda wondering if it's a planned cover. I don't really want to tell my son he can't run the game.

I'll have to uninstall all the earlier versions and get the latest from their site. Then Ill check the file before installing it.

if you d\l it from the official site - as MJC linked to - it won't have a virus attached. don't risk running the one that has already proved to be infected! it may have other nasties attached that may not be picked up by your virus scanner.

delete it!
