Hi:

I have a 600 PIII with 128 meg SDRAM. Internet Explorer Ver. 5.0 runs real slow, and mouse freezes when I change URLs. Any ideas?

Thanks!

contrary to intel adverts just having a PIII processor will not make the internet fast. More important factors like modem speed, ISP speed, even time of day will affect the speed of your downloads, and there is nothing that a fast processor can do about it except wait.

I recently installed IR 5, and had Norton Protected Recycle bin active. When I read the documentation that came AFTER the download was complete (gee, these guys are geniuses), it said to close Norton. My connection now is fairly slow, and I have double the dial up time, and I can't delete e-mail some times. I need to know which temp files to delete. Oh well, I'll just zap 'em all!

netscape version 3.......it may be old but it sure beats IE5 for speed and for that matter opera rocks for a barebones browser.....neoplanet is also quicker....there are alot of choices but netscape 3 or opera you will find to be much quicker than IE5

Codybear,
Did you download IE5 or get the disc? I downloaded Netscape 4.7 and ordered the disc for IE5 and it( IE5) runs circles around Netscape. Maybe it's the difference in modems? What kind of system do you have?
