Don't cost you nuthin' to bump it... Thanks! :D
Hi All!
Time to clear out the closet...
It's baaack - the Wednesday SALE! - $5. off the YE Data drive. Come Wed. midnite EDT, she's a pumpkin...
- New - YE Data 8V07 ver.3 (latest)/Adaptec AUA-7500 Combo Drive. This drive is an Adaptec rebadge of the YE drive. It is a combo of a floppy drive and a flash card reader that fits into a single 3.5" exposed bay (similar to the Mitsumi but better) - always good to get multiple uses out of your available bays especially for compact HTPC or multi-media systems. Here is the YE Data Link (http://www.yedata.com/products/cardreaders/into7in1-3(E).shtml) and the Adaptec support Llink (http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/USB/media/AUA-7500/). AFAIK, Adaptec never sold any of the Drive 3 as a retail product. Most of the 7500s that were sold in the retail channel were the Drive 2 version as pictured on Adaptec's site. I think they were getting ready to roll out the updated version and then decided not to (lots of folks are trying to convince themselves that the FDD is obsolete, but we know better ;) ), and these were from stock of the new drives they had inventoried - not really refurbs at all. I have finished testing and inspecting this and I've found no signs of previous use, so I have upgraded its condition to NEW and have upgraded the price to $24.95 accordingly.
The last YE Data retail packaged version of the Drive 3 was sold recently on TigerDirect for $39.95 (the info is still there). This product is still being sold but as OEM only. This new, brown-box unit will be going for $24.95+ $4.55 for Priority Mail. Insurance is optional at $1.35, but buyer assumes shipping risks on uninsured packages.

In the box:
Combo drive w/ beige (easy to change color with Testor's model paint or vinyl dye) bezel, adapter from standard USB A male connector to USB mobo header, manual, driver CD and mounting screws.
My value adds are: 1- Updated the firmware from 3.10 to 3.17, 2- Tested and inspected the floppy drive and card reader, 3- Included any later drivers than those already on the CD.
System Requrements:
Win 98SE thru XP and will probably work on anything else that can handle a standard FDD and Flash card reader - tested and works fine with Xandros v.4 (linux). Standard FDD interface and cable. USB 2 port for card reader (backward compatible with USB 1.1). FDD power connector.
