I have been reinstalling Windows 95 and playing around with networking via Linksys
Phoneline Network card. Now I cannot det the printer to work anymore.
When I am trying to print a test page, the
printing indicator appears with a red cross
across the printer image and a statement that
the disk is full. The disk still has 1GB left on it. Other times I get a statement:
maybe printer is not online. When I try to
print a web page by clicking on "Print" the
same thing happens as with the test page.
When trying to print from the DOS prompt with
"type netlog.txt > PRN" or with "print
netlog.txt" I get:
Printer out of paper error writing device PRN
Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail for >PRN
and C:\netlog.txt is currently being printed
C:\netlog.txt is in queue for the 2nd
command. I also cannot bring up LPT1 as a
valid port for the printer.
It seems to me that the printer problem
started when I replaced my modem with a
US Robotics 56K Winmodem and tried to network
after having all sorts of problems with
Windows 98. That is why I went back to
Windows 95 which in comparison is really well
behaved. In any event I would appreciate
any input concerning this baffling and
ultimately very annoying problem.
