cmmpu.exe can anyone tell me what this is? It starts up on booting. After being on the web it will be listed as many as 5x in the close program box.

Hi,

Can't tell you what it's for though it looks vaguely familiar..(don't have it)

Trying going into msconfig and see what's loading, that may give you a clue.

You may have multiple entries in autoexec.bat, or look for load= and run= entries in win.ini.

Someone can probably clue you in better, though! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

If my memory serves me right that CMMPU is used with the C-media's sound cards. If you have a C-media sound card or one of it's "sister" companies soundcards try downloading the latest drivers.

I've seen cmmpu most with PCXXX/Alton motherboards, the ones with onboard sound.
