Has anyone had any trouble with this card, I have tried to install it with the drivers it came with but get a windows protection error when trying to boot and if it does get into windows it say I can only get 256 colors, could this card not work with an AMD processor, any suggestions?

No, there's should be no problem using the card with an AMD.

Before you installed the card, did you set your adapter defaults to Standard VGA in Windows? Also need to uninstall prior video program software, too.
