Hi all,

We have a problem with one of our computers with xp pro, the computer would start to boot at the windows logo then some info flashed with a blue screen and the computer started to re-boot again. We had nothing to loose so we went for re-install xp pro from the CD.
Setup loaded files and formated the drive, next it said windows will start-up in 15 seconds, just before the computer started we removed the CD, the computer would not boot required system disk. The next step was to press the reset button and start again and return the CD to the drive, it started setup again and formated the drive for the second time, the windows start-up in 15 seconds reminder. The computer stats to boot again and I end up back in the same loop again.
I now have a drive formatted and no operating system.

Any ideas what I can do to get the computer up and going again.

did you test the ram and hard drive yet?

run memtest+ and the appropriate hard drive manufacturer's diags.

You need to leave the CD in the drive after the first reboot. It is not done copying files yet. DO NOT press any keys to boot to the CD again, let it boot to the hard drive.

Check to see if your hardware meets the M$ HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) as this is a reason for a Stop error during installation.

Reducing the number of hardware components by removing non-essential peripherals and devices can help you ascertain installation conflicts as well?

Flash The ROM BIOS if a firmware update is available.

This is your first point of action.
