Should I go with SATA HD?

I'm purchasing a new Dell OptiPlex from DellOutlet for one of my co-workers and I've noticed that nearly every PC listed has a EIDE SATA drive. I'm very comfortable formatting, partitioning (if desired), and installing Windows on a good ol' IDE hard drive but I know nothing about SATA drives. Do they set up the same? What do I need to look for when selecting a SATA drive? Any issues with XP SP2?

If it's going to be a major learning curve, I'd just assume swap the SATA for an IDE and Ebay the SATA drive or save it for a custom build down the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SATA drives set up almost the same as IDE drives. you may need to use the f6 option to add the motherboard SATA controller drivers, but it would be pretty much the same otherwise.
