It depends on how many people are using that server. MJCfromCT 09-27-2006, 08:48 AM I agree with what Sterling said. In order to figure out a more accurate speed, try downloading a large file from a known high-speed server. Keep the conditions as similar as possible between the wired and wireless attempts (similar time of day, for example), and see what your real-world transfer rate difference is. JPnyc 09-27-2006, 09:11 AM You have to try a bunch of different tests, located as near to you as possible, to get a clear view of throughput. The highest number you get will be the closest to the truth. cat5e 09-27-2006, 10:12 AM Did you optimized the TCP/IP Stack for the type of connection? :D args 09-27-2006, 11:09 AM Yes thanks folks my settings in drtcp needed to be changed speedtest now 3,900mbps close to my isp quote for my adsl line so happy now. :t :) JPnyc 09-27-2006, 11:33 AM Don't forget the receiveWindow also. Optimizing that for BB can make a difference too. And turning off QoS packet scheduling. SysOpt.com
