I wanted to restore WinXP operating system on my computer to a eariler date, but I keep getting the message that it can't restore to that date and to try again. Is this unusual for Windows to do that?? My daughter has WinME on her laptop and sHe gets the same message as I do. Any help appreciated.
thanks

It's common enough. System Restore is not dependable. You're much better off installing a second drive and using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to image your drive.

I was going to mirror Windows XP with the Ghost software I have. A version I had for a long time. Unfortunutly WinXP was formated to NTFS and not FAT32. Correct me if I'm wrong but Ghost does not recongize the NTFS. Ghost did not see hard drive when booting with a boot disk. Does later version of Ghost work with NTFS format?
Thanks

Yes Ghost supports NTFS now. You must have a really old version

You should invest in TrueImage if you're going to buy a new program. It's better than Ghost 10, IMO.

Ghost 2003 and newer work with NTFS.
