trying to update drivers ect. from winzip I can unzip them to a folder but thats as far as I can get. Do I need to open files in MS-DOS? If so how????

If so how???? thanks gene Pantion 12-15-1999, 03:03 PM I'm a bit confused, but from what I got is that you have a zip file and uncompressed it with winzip on a temp folder. Well thats it... just go to the folder were you told winzip to unzip them and run them, move them or whatever depending on the type of files. If you were talking about the "Install" button on winzip then you should check what version of winzip you have. Old versions of winzip don't support the "Install" feature under Win9x so you'll need the newest one. AuraEdge 12-15-1999, 03:45 PM If they are drivers, u must go to system in control panel, go to device manager and select the device u wish to update the drivers on. Then say to manually tell it where to look and then browse to find the path of the temporary folder which u unziped them. Then just continue with the process and after a restart, your drivers will be updated. gene1938 12-15-1999, 05:45 PM Thanks for the info, the problem I'm having is with updates to virus files.
