x850xt or x850xt PE...

I'm considering downgrading from my x1600 pro to x850xt or x850xt PE. At newegg theres 160+ review on the x850xt and not one on the PE verison.. This make me wonder if I should go with the x850xt not the PE.

Thing is the PE cost less.. :confused: Sure the PE only gain couple mhz on the memory/gpu. But hey for couple bucks less.. it's worth it no?

I would go for the PE because its cheaper and its faster. I try not to let the reviews pick the products i buy, but it is weird when there are no reviews for an item. :D

That's not a downgrade ;)

The X850XT or XT PE will kill any X1600 series card on the market, they are 2 to 4 times faster than the X1600.

Either one is fine really, just go for the cheaper one. :)

I agree the X850 series, you will lose shader 3.0 capability, but that won't hurt much, I think you will be happy with the XT or PE

Besides it gets you closer to your moniker!

I have an X850XT PE, and I love it to death, its by far the best ATI AGP card out, and is only beaten by the Nvidia 7800gs AGP.

I beleive siting 20-28 inch away from my 21 inch monitor at 1024x768 is close enough :-\ Damned bad eyes.

I dont absolutely must have SM 3.0 as I mostly play Second life and World of warcraft plus Oblivion on the side. I would very much preffer higher FPS with better AA/AF since I play at 1024x768 and any higher the in game text usually get too small for me to read.

That's not quite what I meant! :D I mean it is a 'Radeon 850' which is close to "ATI Radeon 8500" ;)
