Hello all,
Ive had a peculiar problem: recently had a power surge and the power adapter to my D-link wireless router DI-524 (rev A1) blew off. Hoping that it was only the adapter that blew, i replaced it and voila my router jumped back to life. However, its only the LAN part that works now with a very weak wireles signal which is as good as not being there. I tried upgrading the firmware to the latest version 1.23 but that hasnt helped either. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem (except for junking the router!).

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you are trying to push a rope.

get a new router. if you had a surge, it is probably fried. i wouldn't waste any more time on it.

If the power plug blew off from the power surge, then what do you think happened to the insides of the router?

Junk it now and get a new one.
