I originally thought microsoft didn't feel the need for 1080p cause it wasn't that great of an advantage over the more mainstream hi-deff resolutions, just playin the copy-cat game like sony i guesss..... :P

The greater majority of European hi def televisions currently on sale will not support 1080p graphics (not sure about in the US), so - over here at least - it's not the marketing coup that gamers might think.

720p & 1080i are the agreed standards for broadcast companies and TV manufacturers alike! 1080p compatible TV's will remain at very high prices for some time to come.
