info needed

I just built a new system, and I am using the onboard video card for now untill I decide what to get. The system I built is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor with Kingston 1G DDR2 5300 667 Ram and an Asus MB

I have been using nvidia cards for over 6 yrs or so with no problems at all.
But I hear ATI are the top dogs these days??

I would like to spend around $100-150 on a graphics card, whats my best route
I used 3Dmark03 and got a overall score of 1274 from what I have read that is pathetic for my new system??

Are you going to be playing games with this system?

If so, $150 won't buy you much in a gaming card.
